Robin

Office Manager

Robin has worked for Dr. Ed Kavanaugh Orthodontics for more than 20 years. She and her husband Randy have been married for more than 45 years and have three children. In her spare time, she loves cooking, gardening, camping, shooting skeet, riding her Harley, boating, and traveling. She also loves spending time with her husband, children, and grandkids.

Fun facts about Robin: Her favorite animal is a cat, her favorite color is purple, and her favorite food is Thai. As a child, Robin always loved caring for others, so nursing was her choice. She also wanted to live on a farm with animals and raise a family. Lucky for her, she was able to accomplish both!

Cheryl

Patient Coordinator / Front Desk

Cheryl has been working for Dr. Ed Kavanaugh Orthodontics for more than a dozen years. Before working for this office, Cheryl was a teacher for 35 years. She taught elementary school level, mostly second grade. She has a daughter Courtney, who is in dental school. She also has two grandchildren, Ronan and Kai. In her spare time, Cheryl likes to play piano and likes to garden. 

Fun facts about Cheryl: She hates worms, loves dogs, her favorite color is blue, and her favorite food is fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy. Cheryl wanted to be a teacher when she grew up. She played it hours and hours … go figure!


Cory

Orthodontic Assistant

Cory has been working for Dr. Ed Kavanaugh Orthodontics since 2009. Her and her husband Dan have been married for more than 40 years. Cory studied art in college but found a career doing greenhouse and landscaping work for 25 years before coming to work here.

Fun facts about Cory: She is has a love for animals, but mostly dogs. Her favorite color is green and her favorite food is Mexican. When she grew up, she wanted to work with animals in a zoo or vet office. But when she got a little older and into sports, she wanted to be a coach for softball or volleyball. She also wanted to teach art! Cory’s hidden talent is that she likes drawing sketches out in the landscape.


Jennifer

Patient Coordinator / Front Desk

Jennifer has been married to her husband Darren for nearly two decades. She has four children and three grandchildren! Her family is originally from St. Louis but have lived in Kansas City for many years. In her spare time, Jennifer likes to entertain company, shop, take walks with the dog, bake, and go to the lake.

Fun facts about Jennifer: She dislikes spiders, her favorite animal is a polar bear, her favorite color is red, and her favorite food is steak and potatoes. What did Jennifer want to be when she grew up? Well, her mom would tell you Dorothy from “The Wizard of Oz.” Her first day of kindergarten, she told her teacher her name was Dorothy.


Tristan

Orthodontic Assistant

Tristan is a pre-dental student at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, majoring in biology with a double minor in chemistry and business. While attending school, he is interning with Dr. Kavanaugh to gain proper insight to prepare himself for dental school. In his spare time, Tristan likes cooking, spending with friends and family, playing various board games, and gardening when the weather allows it.

Fun facts about Tristan: He has scolopendrphobia (a fear of centipedes), his favorite animal is a penguin, his favorite color is purple, and his favorite food is chili. Tristan’s little-known hidden talent is his ability to perform a few major magic tricks. Through high school, he developed an interest in magic and has been practicing ever since.


Kris

Marketing and Business Development

Kris comes to the practice with more than 20 years of experience working and volunteering in our community: consistently building relationships and partnerships to last a lifetime. She is responsible for implementing new business initiatives and identifying opportunities and strategies for our growing orthodontic practice.

Her passion is to serve her community and the children in it. She has always been active in her children’s schools and sports, raising money and creating opportunities. She most recently helped Staley’s Falcon Club with their business partner relationships throughout our community. She has also been a CASA volunteer with Clay County for the past 25 years: representing children in court who are brought into the system due to abuse and neglect. Outside the office, she enjoys photography, The Lake of the Ozarks, and spending time with her family.
